Hey all,
I spent this morning at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, a normally obscure court that had its turn in the spotlight today as it heard arguments over President Trump’s tariff powers.
It was a fascinating hearing, and I’ll have a full report for you in tomorrow’s newsletter.
It’s been quite a week at Wake Up To Politics, covering everything from Jeffrey Epstein (or lack thereof) to the future of the U.S.-Israel relationship to housing policy to the Medicaid provisions in the One Big Beautiful Bill and now tariffs as well, with stops at the Capitol and a federal courtroom.
There’s a lot there, so I’m sure you have questions — on those topics and others. Let me know what you’re thinking about by dropping a question in the comments, and I’ll do my best to answer it in Sunday’s Q&A newsletter.
Happy to touch on what I’ve covered this week, as well as the gerrymandering wars going in on Texas and California, the interesting announcements from Roy Cooper or Kamala Harris, the sad news coming out of the Washington Post, or anything else you’re wondering about politics, history, media, or behind the scenes here at Wake Up To Politics.
Fire away!
See you in your inbox tomorrow.

Where is the money going? E.g., where are the tariff payments going? Also, where is the money going that has been paid by entities sued by Trump, like CBS, Columbia University, Facebook/Meta etc? How else is Trump extracting money from organizations and people and where is that money going?
Has there ever been a time in U.S. history, non-World War or Great Depression perhaps, where Congress seemed so subservient to a President's wishes with little to no pushback?
