Thank you so much for this wonderful, detailed breakdown. I’ve always wondered what it is like to be there when decisions are read. I really appreciate this.
(I’ll save my thoughts and heartbreak over the immunity decision for another day. While I fully expected it I am still reeling.)
Thank you, Gabe. I haven't dared to look at any other reports about The Room Where It Happened. I couldn't stand it. You gave me a report that didn't elevate my blood pressure. I so appreciate your reporting.
Ever since my daughter introduced me to your daily email, I have been so grateful to read your clear, insightful persepctive. You truly brought us into the courtroom with you. I feel such naches that you were one of so few to be admitted inside the courtroom. How did that happen? Anyway, thank you. Proud to be subscriber.
Maybe all those trappings of pomp and tradition are blinding the Justices of their role in a democracy, blinding them to who we all out here and blinding them to who they are. Maybe they should get the same level of respect they are showing us. Maybe instead of velvet and mahogany thrones, they should be sitting at IKEA tables on wobbly chairs. Maybe they need to be reminded they are not a royal court.
People ask how the Nazis gained control of Europe. By not taking the threat seriously! We need to stop talking about what people said and start taking about what we're going to do about it. The United States has been fundamentally changed. Biden saying he's going to be a good boy and not abuse his new powers is not good enough. He needs to use his new powers to avert calamity. He's so old, he'd be dead before he ended up in prison. Taking aggressive corrective action needs to be his legacy.
Gabe… your Comments “room” speaks so well of your readership. Unlike too many other forums, the comments I read at the end of your posts are thoughtful, respectful, well-formed and devoid of bile.
This one report justifies my paid subscription. Thank you, Gabe.
A ridiculously cool behind the scenes look, Gabe. So unique to WUTP. Thank you.
That's a really excellent account of what is going to be seen in history as The Watershed Moment in the history of this court and our republic.
Caesar has crossed the Rubicon.

This was an exceptional read. Your detailed observations were enlightening about the court in session.

Thank you, Gabe. This was a revealing and heartbreaking account. The only light note was your description of Justice Thomas’ near horizontal position.

Wonderful “behind the curtain” view of The Supreme Court.
how did you get to be one of the lucky ones who got in the room?
Yes, Jefferson, that’s a great question. Gabe, how’d it happen?
Inquiring minds (and subscribers) want to know!
So appreciate this first-hand account. So glad you were able to be there, Gabe!
Thank you for taking us inside the Supreme courtroom! Even for such awful decisions.

Gabe, this is simply remarkable reporting. You captured the chasm and downright animosity in the room. It’s riveting. Good on you.
Brilliant reporting!
