Sens. Susan Collins (R-ME), Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), and Mike Rounds (R-SD) have all raised concerns, per Punchbowl News. Ha ha. Ha ha. Good one. "raised concerns" from these wimps means they will vote the way Trump wants them too.

I respectfully disagree, even by simply raising concerns they are showing tremendous bravery (compared to their peers). These individuals receive threats on the regular from the President and his fanatic supporters. To be even slightly moderate in DC these days is to be hated by both sides. By mocking the moderates and swing voters, we make them more rare.

What's the point if they do exactly the he wants, like the BBB .

In case you haven't noticed, these senators are Republicans. Expecting them to support the Democrats is an expectation too far. I certainly wish that they would. But calling them wimps if they don't is wildly inappropriate and not remotely helpful.

It may be unhelpful but its true. They know the bill is bad and will hurt their constituents. Their acting as if they are against it, when they'll vote for it anyway to please Trump, is disingenuous. Just come out and say it, "I'm afraid of Trump so I'll do anything he wants, even sell out my state."

What I wish Musk would do instead of starting a third party is funding and founding a counter to Fox News.

Or buy Fox News when Rupert Murdoch dies. His one son, is conservative but his other children are liberal and want to either sell or change Fox News. According to what I read.

It remains an open question whether Republicans will have enough votes in the Senate to approve the package: Sens. Susan Collins (R-ME), Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), and Mike Rounds (R-SD) have all raised concerns

Nothing new here. We have all heard their "concerns". And then they toe the line. Why bother

Some of them manage to get nice shiny balls for their constituents, that's why.

I actually hope Musk carries through with his party, if only because both parties have become far too comfortable with the other party as the only enemy. Politicians of the Democratic and Republican parties alike know the vast majority of their supporters find the “enemy” party to repulsive to consider voting for them. A viable third party could shake up this calculus and motivate them to move toward the middle.

Is it my imagination or do Murkowski and Collins take turns being the bad guy and voting against Trump but neither of them ever do it if they’re actually going to be the deciding vote. Unlike McCain, who stood up and voted against Trump when it would make a difference Collins and Murkowski seem to be playing a game of who gets the wrath of Trump, but doesn’t get the wrath of the Republican Party. Anyway to check the statistics on that? I’ve been watching since back when Kavanaugh was confirmed and I really wonder.

Why do you call them Israeli “hostages” and Palestinian “prisoners” - there’s an implication Palestinians held by Israel are criminals. Of those in detention:

3,498 are held without charge or trial

400 are children

27 are women

Somehow we have to wean ourselves away from spending that does not fairly or efficiently do what it is intended to do without the weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth. Congress should reevaluate the appropriations that have been targeted. PBS and NPR still have some excellent programming but political coverage has veered off course for several years. I reduced our contribution to both years ago and wrote to them with the reason.

I did just the opposite and increased my annual contribution to NPR. The media watchdog, Ad Fortes, rates NPR in the middle category of bias and as reliable for analysis and fact reporting. Media Bias/Fact check rates NPR left-center based on story selection that leans slightly left and High for “factual reporting due to thorough sourcing and accurate news reporting.” I won’t dispute that fact that NPR leans a little left but so do I!
