For all Trump's bluster, as H.L. Mencken said: "When all is said and done, a lot more is said than done.".

Thank you for this concise, comprehensive guide to tariffs! As usual, I got educated by reading WUTP.

Great article on the US tariffs! Yeah, Trump seems to spout out a lot of crap and then make deals off that crap. If history repeats itself, I recall Trump was most interested in moving auto production back into the states and also bring back coal mining jobs or something. Given his interest 8 years ago for the US auto industry jobs, I think Trump might want to keep tariffs for imports like cars to punish our own auto industry for moving operations out of the country and not moving back yet. Which wouldn't help much at all (it wouldn't bring those jobs back and wouldn't help the price of cars for consumers and wouldn't even put profit money back into our auto organizations.). Maybe it will help foreign car makers with operations here in the states like Hyundai and BMW? I don't know. How would tariffs work for foreign companies manufacturing in the US? Happy T-Givs Gabe!!

Bring on the tariffs. We need the $$$ and you only pay it if you buy something. Your choice.
