Presidential Madness - Sweet Sixteen Round

Presidential Madness - Sweet Sixteen Round

  • Thank you all for voting in Round 1 of Presidential Madness the past two days! Now, we've reached the Sweet Sixteen Round - so if you didn't vote in Round 1, here's your chance! (and even if you did, still please vote!)
  • As you know, we will be using the bracket (updated for your Round 1 choices, see below), created by the National Constitution Center, and narrowing down presidents in four rounds, like the NCAA, until we get to the Final Four - and then crown the Best President.
  • Using the voting from Round 1, 16 presidents have been elimated, and 16 others have advanced to face new competitors, in eight match-ups. In this round, Washington and Jefferson, Teddy Roosevelt and Wilson, Franklin Roosevelt John F. Kennedy, and other heavy-hitters will go head-to-head...so it should be very exciting!
  • The Sweet Sixteen round will last today and tomorrow - so you can vote in the following 8 competitions until the end of the day tomorrow: Washington vs. Jefferson, Monroe vs. Jackson, Lincoln vs. Garfield, Cleveland vs. McKinley, T. Roosevelt vs. Wilson, F. Roosevelt vs. Kennedy, L. Johnson vs. Carter, Clinton vs. Obama.
  • Vote in each match-up for the president you think is better by emailing me (wakeuptopolitics@gmail.com), voting in the survey here, or in the survey at the bottom of my website's Presidential Madness page (http://www.wakeuptopolitics.com/#!presidential-madness/c1fom)
  • I will announce the winners of Round 2 on Wednesday, when Elite Eight will start, lasting from Wednesday to Thursday.
  • Then, Presidential Madness will take a hiatus until April 4, by which time Wake Up To Politics will have started up again after Spring Break. On April 4, as basketball fans will be watching the NCAA Final Four games, subscribers can vote for Presidential Madness Final Four. Then, April 6 will be the National Championship - when two presidents will go head-to-head for the title.
  • So, to recap - email me or go on the website to vote in all or some of the 8 match-ups in Presidential Madness Round 2!

Thanks a lot,
