Podcast: The Electoral College
The Electoral College is one of the most controversial features of the American political system. But it’s also one of the least understood.
In this week’s episode of the Wake Up To Politics Podcast, I try to peel the curtain back and explain what the Electoral College is, how it was created, and who the electors who compose it actually are.
My guest is Professor Robert Alexander, who has written two books on the Electoral College and shared many fascinating insights on the inner workings of the mysterious institution. We discussed some of the pros and cons of the Electoral College, the status of efforts to reform it, and the results of his surveys of electors.
