Hi everyone! Happy Easter to all who celebrate. I’m here today with your weekly Sunday mailbag column for paid subscribers. This week, I’ll be tackling questions on:
The agreement between the U.S. and El Salvador to house deported migrants
Whether the Supreme Court will allow Trump to fire the Fed chair
How the president is able to approve arms sales without congressional review
The bipartisan effort to ban congressional stock trading
How I filter out my opinions in my writing
And more!
Let’s dive in…
Q: Where in the Federal budget is the 6 million coming from to pay El Salvador to detain those deported from the US? Is this a one time payment or will it continue? If the US is paying why can’t they remove someone who has been detained ion error?
Great questions! We don’t know any of the answers. We have never seen the text of the agreement between the U.S. and El Salvador that has led to 200+ migrants being removed from the U.S. and imprisoned at the notorious Terrorism Confinement Center (known as CECOT) in El Salvador.
