I will not be watching tonight. Why would I watch a pathological liar and try to wade through all the mendacity? As always when dealing with Trump, I will read the reactions of journalists and congressmen who I trust implicitly and have a reputation of telling the truth, understanding historical perspectives in terms of Trump’s agendas and plans for our country.

This. I couldn’t agree more. Why would I put myself through his verbal and emotional abuse?

"Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) told reporters. “But I think if people are operating in good faith, I think we could get things back on the rails.”" Operating in good faith? There is no good faith with Trump. The rule of law means nothing to Trump. The USA legal system tried and has failed to hold him to account.

As I watched the exchange between Zelensky and Trump I could not help thinking about the

inscription over the cemetery at Omaha Beach in Normandy which reads"There can be no

greater evidence that we are a nation of liberators and not conquerers than all that we

asked of the French People for the liberation of their nation is a little bit of soil in which to

bury our dead" I know that Trump would not go to a cemetery filled with "losers" but in

my opinion this has been the position of a country in which I am proud--I do not believe

Zelensky should have to "take his lumps" when he is offering his nation's resources in

repayment for weapons to fight our common enemy.

I will be watching at work. I take care of people with dementia. During the debate with Harris they called out every time he lied (poor souls can’t remember much but they can spot a lie). Curious how they will react this evening.

Oh my goodness, I love this Marti. If I could watch with folks like you will experience, I would consider. ❤️❤️❤️

“But I think if people are operating in good faith, I think we could get things back on the rails.” Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD)

The problem with this thinking is that Trump has proved to be incapable of operating in good faith. Not what so ever! Last weeks Oval Office Ambush is evidence of that as is does his stiffing contractors left and right.

Will there be blowback tonight from Democrats and/or other adults in the room. I would love to see a continuous round of boos. I won't be watching though, he makes me sick to my stomach.

Every venomous dictator in history has needed henchmen. The United States Congress are Trump’s henchmen. If there is a line they will not cross in fealty to him we have not found it yet.

I will not be watching tonight; the timing is inconvenient. I’m sure there will be ample opportunity to watch it ad nauseum online later. I do recall one of trump’s state of the union addresses during which he awarded scholarships and presidential medals of freedom (remember rush limbaugh) as though they were candy.

What did you think of the Democratic response by Senator Slotkin?

A pedantic English lesson

Laken Riley was murdered, not killed. The difference between those words is intent. Her death was neither accidental or inadvertent. Admittedly, the law recognizes the difference but most people don't.

On the other hand, will be watching tonight, as have done so with most President's from Kennedy onward, hoping for some joy, expecting something at least slightly more foul.

I hope Elon Musk has the good grace to wear a suit. Lenny Skutnik accomplished a heroic deed at his personal peril. Now we see victims in the bleachers are victims. How does this demonstrate American greatness?
