Happy Sunday and welcome to R&R, my weekly roundup for paid subscribers recommending my favorite pieces of journalism from the past week.

MEDIA DIETS

If you want to understand a political movement, you have to understand the media they consume. In Trump I, that meant Fox News. In Trump II, it’s a constellation of independent podcasts that are way under-covered in mainstream media relative to the influence they wield among young Americans (especially young men). If names like Theo Von or Adin Ross don’t mean much you, then this Bloomberg piece (gift link) will be a helpful introduction to the ecosystem.

One important takeaway: these podcasts aren’t like most traditional news outlets, which offer political news with a side of culture. These are culture podcasts with a side of politics.

GRAPH OF THE WEEK

Hmm, can anyone figure out the pattern here?
