Thank you for the updates. Wishing you a great day as well Gabe.

I appreciate that you add that wish - “have a great rest of your day” - to the end of your newsletters. It matters.

What a jarring list of missteps in what must be a highly complex security system. I’m reminded of a maxim I learned about complex systems: they are usually resilient to single point failures, but multiple failures will lead to catastrophe.

Great analysis! It seems like Biden's COVID is significantly affecting his physical strength. He wasn't even able to climb into his car, and barely made it up the short Air Force stairs. He also won't have the ability to continue his Rebound Media Tour while the campaign to kick him out was just (amazingly) resuscitated by Nancy Pelosi for a second time.

The Democrats should be ashamed of themselves for not supporting Biden. There isn’t enough time for another candidate to campaign against that dirt bag Trump. If it were Trump who was not 100% his whole team would be lying through their teeth about his condition. The Democrats should do the same and support Biden so he wins. Then when he really does fall apart, Kamala can become president and we will have the first female president. Because the Democrats have turned their back on Biden they have insured Trump will win.

Thank you for this newsletter. I really love reading straight forward news without all the crap. You are doing a great job.

100% agree on both points, and it's essential to have a non-partisan trustworthy source of news.

And so much more to come! Hunter Biden’s attorneys asked the judge who oversaw his gun trial to dismiss the case against him… contending that the federal court ruling in Florida that dismissed the classified documents case against former President Donald Trump should apply to Biden as well. In that case, the court ruled (and Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas concurred) that the appointment of and funding for the special counsel were illegal. 🍿🍿🍿

JD Vance's speech was full of a lot of information and lies. one was: After the signing of the Canada–United States Free Trade Agreement in 1988, the administrations of U.S. president George H. W. Bush, Mexican President Carlos Salinas de Gortari, and Canadian prime minister Brian Mulroney agreed to negotiate what became NAFTA. The impetus for a North American free trade zone began with U.S. president Ronald Reagan, who made the idea part of his 1980 presidential campaign. After the signing of the Canada–United States Free Trade Agreement in 1988, the administrations of U.S. president George H. W. Bush, Mexican President Carlos Salinas de Gortari, and Canadian prime minister Brian Mulroney agreed to negotiate what became NAFTA. Research other subjects he stated. There are more lies.

Regardless of which administration was responsible for negotiating NAFTA, Biden did indeed vote to ratify NAFTA, along with 34 Republican and 36 other Democrat Senators. That’s all Vance really said was that he supported NAFTA. Now other comments about the effects of NAFTA is a different story.

Gabe, any rumors going around DC about people proposing a 25th amendment removal of Biden? I'm curious how much of the democratic pressure to step down is due to his electability, and how much to actual concerns about his capacity to execute the office. TIA!

Great start with the quote. You could have used the opening of "A Tale of Two Cities", but that would have put a much more partisan spin, as to which had the best of times and which had the worst.

Listened to Vance, and was not overly impressed, it seemed to be a speech someone else wrote for him, on orders most likely from Trump. The best that I can say is, the delivery was better than then Senator Kerry's acceptance speech.

In the House, NAFTA passed 234-200; 132 Republicans and 102 Democrats voted in favor of it. The Senate approved NAFTA 61-38 , with the backing of 34 Republicans and 27 Democrats. Therefore, more Republicans favored NAPTA than the Democrats!!! A lot of misinformation was spread thus far in the Republican Convention.
