I am expecting to vote in Virginia this evening. I voted against Jay Jones in the Democratic primary, on the basic principle that Shannon Taylor had a record as a Commonwealth attorney and Jones did not. And sure enough, the October surprise is actually something that might have been predicted for a nominee who was previously known for legislator-style grandstanding rather than the basic performance of a prosecutor’s duties. I believe that the Attorney General election will be decided on whether voters expect Jones’s kind of performance from Miyares. On one hand, I have seen nothing to suggest anything of the kind in Miyares’s record. On the other hand, I also haven’t seen him in a party-split administration before.
Yes - go ahead and do that and totally alienate your rural, agricultural base. In Connecticut the Democrats have done the same - and farmers in the western part of the state have had the legs kicked out from underneath them because they have no representation. The farms just get less and less support and eventually close. GO at it California...you need more 'crazy'. Republicans (farmers!) CT have no representation at the federal level in Connecticut at all....and the inner city folk don't care - they just want more 'free stuff'.
Thank you to all the candidates running for School Committee, Mayor, City Council, etc. Win or not, your willingness to serve your communities is admirable
Obama excoriated young black men for not voting for a 'female black President'....remember that video of him talking down to a group of young black men? But, when it comes to Winsome-Sears, Obama all of a sudden ignores the BLACK woman, a former Marine, who could achieve a historic first. The race-card is such a convenient Obama / Democrat tactic....but it reeks of hypocrisy.
