Hello Gabe, you mentioned in a 2024, November 5th article that if Harris lost Pennsylvania and the Blue Wall it would be a “Call this the 2028 nominee Josh Shapiro scenario”. Do you still believe this to be the case for the Democratic Party? As in, what it ought to do, will do, and or should do?

Who is in charge of the U.S.Marshalls? The Courts? Could a U.S. court send marshals to arrest, say, Steven Miller and Marco Rubio until they get Abrego Garcia (or someone else) back in the U.S. for a court hearing?

Why were unconvicted men and women deported to a maximum security prison? The due process around their deportation is likely questionable, but sending them to a prison in another country seems completely illegal and unacceptable. What is the administration's support for taking such an action?

Not to be pedantic, but I think Bukele explicitly said no women and even sent a dozen or so back that were deported to El Salvador

Sorry - I do recall that Bukele refused to take women (my bad). Pedants are an underappreciated breed - Thank you for the correction.

Whatever happened to shame as a motivating factor in politics, Gabe? Whatever happened to putting country ahead of party? Call me a relic of the 20th century if you will, but it seems like these concepts walked away from us, or we sprinted away from them. I’d love your historical perspective on these changes: why and when things changed and the implications for future elections and policy decisions.

Will there ever come a time when enough Republicans will realize Trump is taking the country down the wrong path and force their congressman and senators to stand up for their rights? There is some evidence this is happening in recent townhalls.

Hi Gabe, what happened to the longstanding practice that presidents put their financial holdings into blind trusts to at least give the appearance of not benefitting from their actions??

While on the subject, what happened to presidential candidates publicly releasing their personal tax returns during elections and while in office??

And finally, how is it that Donald Trump can use the White House—which the taxpayers pay for—to collect fees for sponsorships for the Easter Egg children’s event, and hosting people who buy his meme coins?? And, exactly where did the money collected go??

Thanks for your great reporting!

Do you think the courts will ever find any of the Trump administration guilty of contempt?

How is the Canadian election going to affect Americans? Americans are not the administration and I live in Washington State where we have had a good working relationship along the Cascade Corridor. What are some short term suggestions to keep the communication doors open while we work through this challenging period?

With all the chatter about the traditional news services being denied access to presidential press conferences, how is yours?

Hi Gabe, has anyone looked at how individual states are going to replace the services destroyed/cancelled by the Federal Government? Food safety, weather warnings, disease tracking, grants and so much more. And how will they pay for it?

STRENGTHENING AND UNLEASHING AMERICA’S LAW ENFORCEMENT TO PURSUE CRIMINALS AND PROTECT INNOCENT CITIZENS

Executive Orders

I sometimes have to take a break from the onslaught of depressing news, but have I missed this in the NY Times and WaPo and WUTP? Seems pretty damn important and a violation of the Posse Comitatus act.

Hello, Gabe:

Is there a group on the progressive side actively developing a message that might resonate with the young men who feel abandoned by the Dem Party? Arguably, your generation of straight, white males has learned what it feels like to be "overlooked" and has born the brunt of the rush to diversify workplace leadership.

Hi Gabe,

Do you see a turning of the tide in the Democratic party? Are they advancing a more organized resistance to the President's agenda (and the dismantling of democracy)?

Thank you,

Nancy from St. Louis (I know your Dad) :)

Now that we are 100+ days into the Trump presidency, I'd be interested in seeing just how close his executive orders are to the Project 2025 playbook. Given that he disavowed any relationship to it during his campaign, I'd like to know what percent of his activity is driven by Project 2025.

I agree- these right wing nut jobs will have successfully destroyed our democracy. Trump is just a useful idiot looking for self aggrandizement and a way to make a buck.
