Gabe, can anyone stop Trump from adding his name to the Kennedy Center? Or do we just wait until a later administration changes it back? And where is Caroline Kennedy in this?
Hi Gabe, I've been reading your newsletters for years now and recommend them to my circle and family. I'm a citizen of Missouri and am wondering what your thoughts might be for the citizens to start an initiative petition to an amendment to the Missouri Constitution to make it illegal for the Missouri Legislature to reverse previous Constitutional Amendments that have been passed by a state-wide vote, i.e. puppy mills, abortion, etc. I would definitely vote for an Amendment that would immediately and irrevocably put any member of the Missouri Legislature in detention awaiting charges and prosecution by impartial courts should they attempt to reverse any citizen generated and approved Amendment. I don't know if other states have this problem, but I'm not remotely happy that Missouri does.
As far as I can see it's all on the shoulders of the Republican Congress. The common fluff about how they are afraid of Trump is ridiculous. Why aren't they showing any spine? No. I mean REALLY why no spine?
According to the American Farm Bureau, American "farm industry" owners hire and pay approximately ONE MILLION "unauthorized" immigrant farmlaborers to work in America's agriculture industry. Trump said he will replace them after deportation with Medicaid recipients. Has any Democratic or Republican politician made an effort to explain Trump's proposal is pure lunacy? Has any politician in 2025 attempted to "show and tell" American voters this REALITY of farmlaborers slaving away every day while we're sitting in air conditioned buildings?
Isn’t the imposition of an export tax on Nvidia and AMD unconstitutional? And where does this sort of intrusion into a private company’s business rank on the capitalism to communism scale?
Are there any realistic legal options that can contest Trump defining an ‘emergency’ however he wants? Who would have legal standing to bring the case?
I know that the National Guard in DC is mainly an attempt to distract from Epstein/Inflation/Jobs/Economy, but how likely do you think it is that Congress will be able to pass the bills it has started to get rid of Home Rule? Are the Republicans starting to rebel in terms of these outlandish demands for compliance?
Hi Gabe, everyone in my circles has been ringing the alarm bells about Kim Davis’s official challenge to Obergefell v Hodges - after reading a single article I know the situation is not as dire as everyone is making it out to be, but could you shed some light on how the process of an official judicial challenge works and what could come of this one? Thanks for all your amazing reporting!
The trained trump media will cover anything he puts up as a story. I think having the National Guard in DC is just a “pony and dog show” to deflect attention from the Epstein debacle and his failure to “make a deal” for the Ukraine.
Disbursements from the Treasury shall not exceed receipts from taxes and other fees in any fiscal year, unless the Congress, by a three-fifths majority of each House, passes a bill specifying a certain amount for a certain purpose for the current or immediately following fiscal year, such bill being signed by the President. Bonds may be issued for the actual construction costs of tangible fixed assets having an expected useful life of more than ten years, but not for war ships and vehicles. Proceeds of sales of undeveloped land shall be applied to reduce the national debt. Budget surpluses in any year shall be applied to reduce the national debt during the following fiscal year. Further, each year's budget shall include payments to reduce the debt by One Percent (1%) of the outstanding debt each fiscal year until the amount of debt is less than one-fourth of the budget.
Is it too early for this question? I find it hard to tell exactly how much power SCOTUS has been giving to the President or how much power Trump is just taking unto himself, but it makes me want to question if it will make any difference should the GOP lose control of the House next midterm? The President's demand for Texas to gerrymander 5 votes for him would seem to indicate Trump might think it will. Will it?
Will the republicans ever have enough and stop Trump. We have more than 3 years of lawlessness to go. What will the USA look like if no one stops this sprint towards dictatorship.
Data reports say inflation is steady but my grocery prices are increasing substantially, coffee and chicken and milk for example. If not the tariffs, what is causing this?
What do conservatives think about Trump spending federal money to provide security and infrastructure to liberal cities? I mean, it’s ironic, right? He’s going to “beautify” DC and fix potholes. I’ll put my request in for federal support in my Midwest city where the police have budget issues and there’s no shortage of potholes.
It’s a bizarre scenario where conservatives complain about cities as a campaign tactic with no intention to fix anything, but Trump actually enjoys living in a city and thinks the blight is a problem. Compare that to the rural/suburban conservative who just enjoys the ‘crime’ content on a ‘us vs them’ level and it’s an interesting contrast.

I think it's all about the money DJT could spend in an effort to defeat them.
Only Congress has the power to rein him in.
If he blatently defies a SCOTUS order or decision, Congress had better act.

It ranks the other way, toward fascism. And yes, the "deal" is tantamount to an export tax, unconstitutional.
Did anyone challenge Trump to show how the BLS figures were "rigged" or why they were not accurate?

Yes thank you! I think the fear comes from not trusting this SCOTUS to overturn whatever they want.

Proposed Constitutional Amendment:
Balanced Budget Amendment:

What is the status of Rudy Giuliani? I have not seen anything about him in awhile.
