Yes, if SNL had their Trump double simply quoting him on this stuff, it would hilarious and get an Emmy nomination. When you see it for real, it just makes you want to throw up.
How did this man become president? My father, three brothers and 2 sisters have all served in the military with honor but none were in combat. The men and women of this country who served in combat and were injured or gave their lives deserve our thanks forever - not to be denigrated by the leader of our country. Never. Thanks for sharing these specific, verifiable incidents of that man's disgusting values.
Gabe, great report, as usual. How come Democrats are not seizing on Trump's repeated humiliation of injured soldiers who served with honor to hit back at swift-boatinf attacks against Gov. Walz.
It won't work because most soldiers know what Trump actually means. Soldiers like Trump and they've heard everything he said. They've also heard his explanations.
Yeah, Trump is less than ideal - not even close to it - in a lot of ways, and this is one. But Kamala Harris will never get my vote for anything, least of all as President. When she was a DA, she got three innocent men - all poor blacks, for what that's worth - sent to Death Row, and she did this by withholding and concealing exculpatory evidence. And she pulled lots of other egregious and abusive tricks. See https://scheerpost.com/2024/07/22/kamala-harriss-distinguished-career-of-serving-injustice/ I practiced criminal defense law for 15 years, and I've seen my share of prosecutorial misconduct, but nothing like this. On top of that, she's a Silicon Valley shill - bought and paid for - https://www.counterpunch.org/2019/09/06/kamala-harris-another-establishment-candidate/ - so that's the fourth strike - and she only gets three... btw, I've never voted for Trump - he gives great speeches but his actual track record of getting things done is pretty thin, if not outright awful, as in his exercise of dictatorial power when he "shut the country down" in the first year of COVID. Surely the Democrats can find someone better than Harris...
Yeah. If he wants to drain the Swamp, he'll have to considerably up his game - he may be literally fighting against teams of assassins. The White House and DC might not be terribly safe places for anyone intending to overthrow the Permanent Government - check https://sites.tufts.edu/fletcheradmissions/files/2014/01/National-Security-and-Double-Government-by-Glennon.pdf JFK said he wanted to tear the IC into a thousand pieces and scatter it to the winds -not more than two years later, that's what happened to JFK's brains in Dallas. And they came close to getting Trump in Butler, PA - or maybe that was a warning shot. We have an elected government, which is effectively a puppet for the unelected - and unaccountable - permanent government.
What I value most in your emails is the reporting on important news that often is buried behind the screaming headlines. #45's character (or lack thereof) is well known and sufficiently documented by his own public statements, actions, and failures to act when his oath demanded action. If he were ever to make a statement exhibiting decency or putting other peoples' needs ahead of his own craven desires, that would be worth reporting on, in my view.
Time and space given to Trump is exactly what Trump wants. He knows that press space good or bad in content is effective good publicity. Further it takes publicity away from everything and everyone else.
Unfortunately, when Trump speaks he speaks pretty rough and poorly and often in poor taste. But this article is taking a lot of things he says and misconstruing what he actually meant. And I don't know if you noticed, but nobody asked the follow-up question to him. What do you mean by that? I don't think if you asked him point blank if he means that people who never got hurt and never got injured in war are actually more deserving or equal to deserving this award actually are the same as people who have served the country? If you get specific with him and ask him specifically, you'll find out things that he said weren't meant. The way you thought. It's happened a lot. He speaks poorly and often in poor taste. But he often doesn't mean what it sounds like. Heard him explain that Congressional medal of Honor versus presidential and he meant it's better for the person getting the award because obviously they're okay and didn't need to get hurt to get it. He doesn't mean that it's better to get the award because they deserve it the same amount. He means the exact opposite actually.
The military should be overwhelmingly biased towards Trump, if he would shut up, he could have wrapped up their vote, with little problem. For better or worse, his mouth is a loose and deadly cannon, perhaps aimed towards his own re-election.
Great reporting here. I’m trying to keep up with it all, so this compilation is very helpful.
As is often the case, you’ve highlighted details that receive less coverage elsewhere. Vets need to know these stories. Well done.
This vet does & I very much appreciate that Gabe writes about the subject with objectivity and great attention to detail.

Gives great speeches eh?

I'm speechless........

Great read. But these progressives remind me of the Manson Family.https://shorturl.at/zHhwS and I have no faith in any foreign policy approach from Ka'mas' Harris https://shorturl.at/Dtvtn
Have you served?
Bravo! Good eye!
