White House Watch
The President’s Schedule At 2:10 PM, President Obama will present the Commander-in-Chief Trophy to the U.S. Air Force Academy football team. The trophy is awarded annually to the victor of the triangular football series between the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Navy Academy, and U.S. Air Force Academy.
At 3:15 PM, the President will depart the White House, arriving in Portland, Oregon at 5:40 PM Pacific Time.
At 7 PM Pacific Time, Obama will speak at a fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee in Portland, where he will spend the night.
Capitol Hill News
House: Schedule The House is currently on a weeklong recess.
Senate: Schedule The Senate will hold a cloture vote on the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act of 2015, the bipartisan bill allowing Congress to review, and possibly reject, a nuclear deal with Iran. A vote on final passage of the bill may come today as well.
2016 Central
Travel Tracker Iowa Both Mike Huckabee and Carly Fiorina are in Iowa today as part of their announcement tours.
Huckabee is on Day 2 of his “Factories, Farms & Freedom” swing, and will host meet and greets today in Sioux City and Cedar Rapids.
Fiorina, meanwhile, will also host meet and greet in Cedar Rapids today; she will also address the Dallas County GOP.
Fiorina will continue onto New Hampshire Friday, then split her Saturday between New Hampshire and South Carolina, where she will complete her tour of the first three early voting states.

Finally – if you read nothing else this week…the New York Times reports on what will be a huge story this election season: Snapchat. What began as a social media app with disappearing pictures has grown into its own news agency, and now they have veteran CNN political reporter Peter Hamby to lead their news division.
If you need any proof that Snapchat could have a huge effect on political engagement by Americans, look at young Americans. I have seen firsthand kids with no interest in politics look at the Snapchat news section after taking a selfie, and then discussing the news stories they see.
Rand Paul has taken advantage of Snapchat early, creating an account and answering questions from users – a virtual town hall using a medium Americans love.
