Is now the time to start spreading the dementia rumors? Seems like we've got plenty of ammo to follow the Republican playbook and paint the president as inept and not all there!

In all seriousness - it's incredibly disturbing that I'M (apparently) more aware of current national affairs than trump is.

Now is the perfect time. Short-term memory loss, confabulation (basically, unwittingly asserting an untruth), and detachment from reality are all signs of dementia. If Congress and DOJ won't act, perhaps the Surgeon General will. It's time for the 25th.

Good job, Gabe! Very important to summarize all the ways in which POTUS appears to be out of the loop. Don't think we had evidence of this kind of thing with Biden (in terms of policy plans or development or in terms of breaking news about his Administration) when he was about the same age Trump is now, but in all fairness, Biden didn't provide as much press availability as Trump has been doing so far and we thus had less of an opportunity to know.

The overall issue is that no one person with the proper knowledge is really in charge. This is more than distressing as we watch ill-equipped leaders of an f’ing country fumble around like ignorant oafs.

Just watched the first five minutes of the first episode of Better Off Ted. Trojan horse. When you lay out the premise that there are “evil corporstions,” all you are really doing is the “few bad apples” argument. In reality, the difference between a “good” corporation and a “bad” corporation comes down to prevailing market conditions. If there ever was such a thing as a truly good corporation, it would have been dismantled by corporate raiders years ago.

Why aren’t the bar associations disbarring the jackals carrying water for fascism? It ain’t like they are popular even in good times. Might be time for some perspicacious self-reflection. You guys could actually stop the coming war.

I think so but he's a sociopath and might think if he keeps blaming 'dumb' he can't possible be blamed when it happens...

Trump not remembering signing the Alien Act has the concerning implication that either 1) he completely forgot or 2) Marco Rubio or someone else on his staff forged his signature. The latter obviously would be completely unconstitutional, but how plausible is this theory?

No need to forge. Just use the auto signer.

That's even more concerning honestly

I feel like this could be a PR tactic to allow POTUS to rid himself of the blame for some of this. Appreciate this article and will keep looking for patterns here.

Yes, by all means, spread the news that our POTUS is entering a dementia stage. Our MSM Leftist puppets would have a field day and an all-new impeachment would be brought forth. What if Trump is playing stupid for whatever reason??? Over the past ten years stupid, ignorant, racist, out-of-touch. money-bags, etc., etc., etc. have been applied to him. Is he really all these, or is he using his usual fox/sheriff tactics?

Yes. He obviously is out of the loop. His mental capacity is severely diminished. And his staffers will continue to cover it up just like Biden's staffers covered it up. It's the power and prestige of their positions that they want to hang onto.

I think he makes the “big picture”orders eg. deport bad guys to El Salvador and leaves the details to others—kind of a modern day version of “will no one rid me of this turbulent priest.” I think many presidents have done this [Reagan & Clinton come to mind] but more artfully.

However, remember where the buck stops: the president is in charge and will be blamed if things go wrong and lauded when things go right. The implication is that the president is fully knowledgeable of what should be done and has been briefed by all his intelligence teams. I don’t see this happening in this administration in the least. In fact, ‘intelligence teams’ doesn’t even come close to a description of his cabinet members.

I'd think four missing soldiers, and wayward texts containing confidential information to journalists would be pretty high on the list of "need to know" detail.

Right? Like, Jeffrey Goldberg announced his presence in that chat before he left it. In a normal world, that would be the moment that those members of his administration informed the President so they could then come up with a prepared response for him to have in his back pocket, and NOT leave him to be caught off-guard by a reporter's question.
