Regarding USAID - I don't think that they can legally shut down an agency that has been authorized and funded by Congress. There are many issues associated with this, including the impoundment issue that has been percolating. What Trump and Musk seem to be doing is throwing so much turmoil into the court system to see if it will break. Once the courts break, they are free to do anything that they want.

It’s absolutely unreal to see all of this blatantly illegal stuff happening with seemingly no push-back. Will you please provide an update on the legal issues and legal fights happening?

Folks keep saying that the dems need to get involved but remember they are the MINORITY party in BOTH the house and the senate. What we really need is for REPUBLICANS to actually grow a collective BACKBONE. The dems alone can’t pass any laws nor can they bring any laws to the floor of either chamber without a long a difficult process.

We have undergone the largest security breach ever of both personal data and national security data. This has been accomplished by Elon Musk with the help of 6 young (19-24) male computer whiz kids. None of these folks are government employees. They have not taken an oath to protect the constitution and have no credible understanding of the privacy violations their breach has caused. I’m sure the young guys are just incredibly excited to be hacking for Musk (haven’t got a good set of emoji for him yet but working on it). Doggy (my name for doge) isn’t even an actual thing except in the minds of the🍊💩 and his nefarious sidekicks.

This action can legitimately designated a coup. The first thing we must all do is contact all of our state senators and reps in the house (both their DC and local offices) asking them what they are doing to stop this coup and how are they going to protect both our individual and national security information from outsiders who have no right to it. It is just as important to call republicans and independents as it is to call democrats. Ask for a response and ask how we can support them in this fight. That’s 6 phone calls everyday (more if you don’t ask for a response and just log your zip code with your requests that they must help protect the country from the coup.).

DONT WRITE ON THEIR COMMENTS PAGES. THOSE ARE NOT READ WITH ANY REGULARITY. BUT THE PHONE CALLS ARR ALL KEPT IN A DAILY TALLY.

Wanted to share this piece with you—it’s about how the Democratic Party can’t afford to sit on the sidelines for the next four years and why they need to take control of the narrative now. It lays out a strategy for a Democratic shadow government and how it could be the key to winning back Congress in 2026 and the White House in 2028.

Would love to hear your thoughts when you have a minute.

So the question is - how do you get the Democratic Party to get off the sidelines and take control of the narrative? For starters, the pressure needs to come from us, the outraged American public to take a stand to make sure that they do. Let them know If they aren't up to the task, we will find leaders who are.

Absolutely. The Democratic Party can’t afford to sit back and wait for things to get worse. The pressure has to come from us—loud, relentless, and uncompromising. They need to know that if they aren’t willing to fight, we’ll find leaders who are. This is the time to push for real, strategic action, not just words.

One suggestion that came from the group Indivisible, is to get in touch with your Senator in person at their office, if that is doable. They said it does make a difference. As a group we have power. We need to realize that and use it
