The Canadian kerfuffle will have no effect. Actually, if a foreign government purchased ads which are redacted enough to be considered false statements and/or altered by AI to do the same, in the middle of an election campaign (not a court case), I would consider that a big problem although imposition of a tariff would not be an appropriate response. I am not related to the Canadian Fords.

Also he's confusing jury pool contamination through prejudicial pre-trial publicity with the possibly deleterious effects of a TV ad on the supposedly brilliant minds of the 6 SCOTUS justices he seems to like who have given him most of what he has asked for, at least so far. Not how SCOTUS works!

This was not a one off from Reagan. He was anti tariff. I think you would have to go back to Hoover to find a pro tariff president
That’s not saying some tariffs can’t be justified The dumping of products by Japan and later China can be justified
You can always compare the actual speech with what was run in the ad
The other problem is Trump doesn’t have an economist in his administration worth a grain of salt
