Hello from Section 320 of the United Center, where I am currently stationed before the DNC programming is about to begin.

I’ve spent all day running around the convention center and adjacent buildings, interviewing everyone from Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN) — the original Biden coup plotter, if you will — to a Minnesota state legislator who has known Tim Walz since childhood. Much more from those in tomorrow’s newsletter and throughout the week.

Tonight’s big event will be President Joe Biden’s valedictory address, with other speakers including First Lady Jill Biden, Hillary Clinton, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Outside, protesters have broken through part of the perimeter fencing set up by police.

Right now, my plan is to go live with Substack’s new video feature directly after Biden’s speech, which will likely end sometime around 11:30 p.m. ET/10:30 p.m. CT.
