I always appreciate your deep dives into process, and this is a good one.

I don't think Trump will put much energy into the legislative process. He much prefers whipping out the Sharpies and signing his edicts. We'll see.

He certainly will get involved.

He doesn't have a legislative agenda because he is already doing what he wants to do, ruling by edict. He is the dictator that he said he was going to be. I've already written my republican senators to wake up because in short order, Trump will tell all of Congress to "Go Home you are no longer needed". My Mississippi Reps have gone all in on the Trumplican Rule of the Nation. I write, but they don't see my words.

Hi Gabe. I would love to listen to your writing on a pod cast app. I have one for Democracy now. When I walk i can then listen. Hope you do that soon and I can add it to my phone. Thanks

Trump announces a directive - then - there’s a pause. He has become The Wizard of Pause.

Yes, this sounds pretty much like what I've been following. It's annoying. Why can't they cut a bit less when you can see DOGE is cutting all kinds of stuff and has just started? For instance. But Trump does need to get involved in it soon. Two bills makes more sense really, but either way, he better start throwing his weight around.

Gabe I usually enjoy your deep dives into process because I learn something or you jog my memory from those civics lessons I took in the early 70s. but I think process has gone out the window. You’re ignoring the facts about the coup and the dictatorial edicts that clearly violate the constitution. You’re also expecting the republicans who control both houses to grow a collective spine. You’re sanewashing the destruction of the federal government. Now dems in the senate have some ability to stop the worst of the senate actions but they don’t have power to do much by way of making law or enforcing law except what their doing now to hold up appointments. You may think this is still a country where the rule of law is actually intact but that appears to be a fantasy

This is ludicrous. Look at what that USAID organization was doing and funding Politico and other liberal rags. "Subscriptions." If the rule of law disappeared, it is because of decades of deepstate Democrat rule.

So you’re a maga who believes we should

Let babies starve to death and cease every thing we do to keep Ebola contained and NOT in our country and continue the live saving Aids program started by W so the world is not overwhelmed by orphans and their moms can be well enough to care for them. I don’t know what horseshit sources you’re getting your info about subscriptions from. But quit spreading lies about things you don’t understand. And for your edification USAID represents about 1% of our annual budget. If you want to really have an impact on the debt make the billionaires pay taxes at least at the highest rate teachers and cops and firefighters pay.

Shock and awe, Day 18. Promises made, promises kept.

On another note, hoping that Gabe got one (or many) of those 10K annual subscriptions from USAID. He deserves the money and it is such a small part of the total outflow that it doesn't matter. Let it flow.

And none of it will make any difference to any thing because Congress is being made completely powerless.
