Hey all,
I’m coming to you live from the Supreme Court pressroom. I just walked out of the courtroom a bit ago, where we had a fascinating 2½-hour hearing on birthright citizenship — but really, as I explained this morning, about nationwide injunctions.
I’ll have a lot to say about the arguments in tomorrow’s newsletter — and how they connect to (and contradict!) some of the legal arguments the Trump administration has been making in other clashes with the judicial branch. I’m getting started on the piece now, and I’m excited to share it.
But first: as I do every week, I wanted to take a moment to solicit your questions for my Sunday mailbag column.
This week, the two topics I’m thinking most about are the Supreme Court case on nationwide injunctions + the Republican reconciliation package, which is currently advancing through the House. So I’m happy to take questions on either of those, if there’s anything you’re still wondering after my coverage this week.
But feel free to ask about anything: the (potential) Qatari Air Force One. What it’s like covering the Supreme Court. Or any other questions you have about politics, history, media, or Wake Up To Politics. Drop your Qs in the comments here:
As always, anyone can ask questions — but the full mailbag piece is available only to paid subscribers.
Thanks so much for reading!
Gabe
Hi Gabe, wondering why so many Russian missiles and drones are hitting cities in Ukraine? It seems that this was not happening with US missiles and drone defense systems that were in place earlier. Is this a result of Trump not supplying Ukraine with those defensive weapons?
How did trump circumvent the alternative minimum tax on his tax return?
