Hey Gabe .... I don't understand why you continue to use the mainstream media term "war" to characterize what is going on in Gaza. If there is no threat from an opponent there is no "war". Sort of like the way US history books in schools talk about the "Indian Wars".

Those governing Israel are blind to the significance of public opinion outside their small country. The way to kill a giant is to get it to kill itself. Israel is the giant there and is killing itself in reaction to the Hamas atrocity.

It is profoundly difficult to continue supporting a state government whose military agents mow down scores of innocent, starving civilians, including babies, in the scores of lives lost every day while they desperately try to access scarce food and medical supplies essential to sustaining human life.

There's just something about this that makes it feel more evil than the worst depredations of South Africa’s 20th Century apartheid. When Marjorie Taylor Greene abandons the pro-Israel booster club, there's real trouble a-brewing.

Q. Where is Hamas' culpability in this maelstrom?

A. In dark, dank tunnels where it fills its belly with stolen food and starves the hostages.

We can condemn and blame Hamas all we want - and we should, because they are to blame for so much of what is occurring to Palestinians. But that blame and condemnation would change nothing for Palestinians, who currently have absolutely no governmental force working for their good. Pressuring Hamas will not save the Palestinian people - after all, Hamas has very little power left and no reason to give up what they have. But pressuring Israel will save Palestinian lives. So that's what we're doing.

Netanyahu knew who he was dealing with as Hamas is nothing but a gang of thugs. He thought he could control the issue with transferring funds and they would simply keep the Palestinians in line. He was dead wrong, and if the truth be told, he would like every single man, woman, and child gone from Gaza

Netanyahu has made the mistake of thinking his own self interest is the same as that of the State of Israel. When the people finally recognize that there is a difference, it is likely to be way to late to undo all of the damage done.

Can anyone really say they know what JD Vance's positions really are? He seems to be a chameleon willing to change his colors to whatever advances his career in the moment. On the one hand he candidly said he thought Trump was an American Hitler. On the other hand, he fully committed to the "they're eating the dogs, they're eating the cats" nonsense. We could say we might see who he really is when he's out from underneath Trump. But would we see his real policies or those of his billionaire backers?

As long as countries vote for the likes of far right politicians like Netanyahu, they will have issues, similar to any extremist government. Netanyahu supported Hamas with money, not wanting a two state solution, and his inherent arrogance and manipulative personality are not redeeming characteristics. He took his eye off the ball so to speak and Hamas played their degenerate hand, causing immeasurable suffering. His revenge policy is not and will not work. He is disgraceful.

Why should it scare Israel? It should only scare the Likud party (BTW, they were the origin of from the river to sea, they just end it it with “shall be Israeli sovereignty”) and BIBI. I feel certain most people in Israel want this war to end as soon as possible. And, then they want elections. Bye, bye BIBI!!!!! Peace in the East, Goodbye to the Beast!

Not really excited to hear GOP is going to double down on some of this BS in this country as a good thing. Maybe I think science is real, people deserve healthcare, rights, due process and our checks and balances are worthwhile. And have a backbone to advocate for their constituents instead of the party. The idea that Josh, Tucker and Steve types are the future makes me ill.

People finally getting a wake up call about Israel? Now that I can be happy about.
