I think it's worth reflecting how much "hawks" and "doves" in this context have shifted over the past 10 years or so. The idea of the Romney/McCain/Rubio 2014 GOP showing ANY concession to Russia on the territorial claims is laughable; the GOP senate "hawk" of 2014 would have greenlit much military aid even with Obama as president. The "dove" of 2014 would have argued for diplomacy while vociferously castigating Putin at any opportunity; now a buffoon like Witkoff is claiming something that is denied by every single piece of respectable intelligence and evidence.

Pretty much. Watching Trump on one side say "We can make peace in Russian / Ukraine" and then Rubio say "If we cant make headway, the US will walk away from talks", really hurts the "Day 1, I will stop the war in ukraine" narrative.

How long before Rubio leaves the office exactly for contradicting the der orange Fuhrer ?

At least we all confirmed yesterday that Abergo Garcia is properly alive.

After reading the Courts opinion to uphold the ruling to facilitate Garcia's return, I'm am apprehensive that Bondi and Trump will refuse. This makes me sad, in the courts understanding that this will eventually lead to no law and break our country. Trump is not worth having that happen, he is not a good person or Executive and we need someone better, someone that believes in our Constitution.

250 years ago yesterday, The Sons of Liberty had a plan, not knowing the future and LOOK WHAT WE HAVE TODAY…liars, cowards and men and women that threaten our constitution without regard for the rule of law. Those men had more bravery in their little fingers than this cadre of power hungry bullshit artists.

"Rubio said that the Trump administration would decide “in a matter of days whether or not this is doable in the next few weeks.” I interpreted this as saying 'if Ukraine doesn't capitulate to all of Russia's demands then the U.S. will determine a peace is not doable.' Although Rubio, as you point out "did not make clear what “moving on” would look like..." my expectation is that the U.S. will stop all military and financial support, in the hope that Russia will soon win the war. I sincerely hope my expectation is wrong.
